Hi Marley had a successful year of product innovation and growth fueled by new strategic partnerships and the build out of additional integration points with leading P&C claims systems of record. With a year-over-year customer count growth of more than 40%, we were recognized on the 2023 Deloitte Technology Fast 500 as the 67th fastest growing company in North America with a three-year revenue growth eclipsing 2200%. Moxie Apparel
2023 was a transformative year with significant momentum for us here at Moxie Scrubs. We were awarded a Boston Business Journal Fire Award and secured the top recognition as InnoBlazer as the number one consumer goods startup in Boston! With a thriving community of over 1 million followers across our social channels, we've deepened our connection with our nurses across the country, resulting in our D2C sales tripling. A key triumph for us this year was establishing a fully integrated vertical supply chain for greater inventory control, profitable margins, and product lead times - positioning us for expansion into new categories like men's scrubs, company uniforms and group sales, and launching our after-shift (TM) lifestyle collection. Additional noteworthy accolades include being recognized as one of the Best Scrubs for Nurses by the Nurse Journal, featured on FOX13's Fall Bazaar segment to an audience of 2.9 million, and Good Morning America.
There is also even more excitement mounting as we approach the Beta launch of our first of it’s kind platform, Moxie 360 — a digital platform designed to cater to all aspects of the nursing profession, improving the way nurses work, alleviating burnout, and improving patient outcomes. Keep an eye out for further updates and thrilling advancements!

1H 2023 Highlighted Operators
Laina Crosby, Product Manager @ Toast
Laina is heads down building her career in Product at Toast and raising her adorable dog Murphy.
Sheila Connolly, Product Manager @ Veson Nautical
This year Sheila made the leap from fintech to maritime after taking a position on the Product team at Veson Nautical - a Boston-based software company specializing in maritime freight management. While 'starting over' after eight years at the same company was initially intimidating, she has really enjoyed digging in and learning an entirely new industry. Looking forward to what 2024 brings!
Jack McDermott, Manager, Growth @ Chegg
As much as I love Boston tech, life and my partner brought me to Nashville this year! I’m still leading marketing and growth for Chegg Skills remotely, and enjoying more twang in my music and hot in my chicken. Hope everyone has an amazing holidays!
Note: …he’ll be back
Nick Abate, Director of Sales Engineering @ Salsify
As the year comes to a close and we work through the flurry of Q4 deals, I wanted to highlight a couple observations from 2023.
1. Rule of 40 is the new norm for tech companies. Across the sector, especially later stage companies are working hard to get their metrics in line to put the business in a strong position in 2024 and beyond.
2. Value creation and justification is mission critical when there are Headwinds. In Enterprise SaaS, justification of spend is more stringent than we've seen in a long time so being able to deliver tangible valuable outcomes to your customers is a must!
3. The Team matters. If you lead a team or are building a team, make sure you are taking care of your people and creating a culture that people want to be a part of. When times are tough, like they have been in 2023 for most, if you're surrounded by good people and are in a team with a great culture, you will weather the storm together!
Stephanie Roulic, Head of Operations > Full Time Founder @ Startup Boston
In November, Stephanie stepped away from her full-time job at Goldcast to focus full-time on building Startup Boston. In 2023, the Startup Boston Team held their seventh annual Startup Boston Week - which included the first-ever Podcast Stage and Startup Crawl, held numerous Cofounder Matching events (helping folks find their partner in crime for their startup!) and organized many Dealflow Mixer events (matching investors and founders). They're excited to jump into 2024 and right on into their six-month event series with The City of Boston, which kicks off on January 3rd.
Campbell Brofft, Director of Product @ Jellyfish
Campbell and her team at Jellyfish have spent the last year focused on scaling the product for the company's growing customer base as well as launching functionality aimed at helping software leaders achieve better results. Notable releases from 2024 include new tooling that helps organizations focus their engineering resources, plan their deliverables more effectively, and build healthier teams. Another area of her investment has been in growing Jellyfish's software capitalization product, which eliminates the need for time tracking within engineering orgs.
Sejin Mong, Senior Director of Customer Success @ Starburst
Since I did my MGMT profile, I returned to work from maternity leave. I started a company wide initiative to drive more focus on our existing customers towards our new SaaS product and organized a 2 day training for my global team of 20+ in our Boston HQ in December. As usual, learning a ton in my work and constantly inspired by my team.
Rachel McIntosh, AVP Voice of Customer @ Jenius Bank
Based on her work in Community Management at Venture Lane | Startup Hub, Rachel McIntosh was tapped to join Jenius Bank, a new digital banking division of SMBC MANUBANK, a member of the SMBC Group. Rachel now acts as Associate Vice President in the Voice of Customer division at Jenius Bank. Amidst this transition, Rachel also served as the Head of Programming for Startup Boston, overseeing a team of 16 volunteers and helping to organize the largest conference in the organization’s 7 year history. Rachel ran the Philadelphia Marathon in November and is still committed to reading a book a week.
TJ Massie, RVP of Sales @ Traceable
TJ is heads down building the Traceable revenue team he recently joined in November.
Lily Macomber, Scroobious
Lily is heads down building Scroobious, an AI-powered, algorithmic-driven platform connecting diverse founders and investors.
Amelia Van Camp, Chief of Staff @ Mirakl
Amelia is heads down building Mirakl, managing third-party marketplace and dropship businesses in the Americas and beyond.
Dana Wensberg, Senior Software Engineer @ Paperless Parts
It’s been about 8 months since I returned to an engineering role after an 18 month stint in product management, and I am loving it. Here are my major takeaways:
When you love the work, the work tends to loves you back.
Finding enjoyment in your day-to-day is critical. If you naturally enjoy the demands of a role, it is so much easier to grow, be a good teammate, bring positivity, and ultimately drive positive outcomes.
Let the play develop
The best soccer players in the world do not chase the ball. They read, anticipate, and react. They play off their teammates, and magically, the ball finds them.
Let the play develop around you so you can make the smartest move that exerts the most leverage.
AI tools are a game changer for development.
I have never felt better about NOT having a classical computer science degree.
For any of the classical algorithm challenges where you are working with pure data, ChatGPT can sort you out in seconds.
Learning and debugging new code is faster than ever.
I’ve had the opportunity to work on some really impactful and exciting projects. I led the implementation on a complete overhaul of our pricing engine, how we calculate and display bills of materials (or BOMs) in the application, and parsing of complex zip files containing all different types of technical data, to name a few. It has been really fun shipping value to our customers.
The move back to engineering was clearly the right one for me. I have been promoted to Senior Software Engineer and I am excited continue my growth underneath new engineering leadership at Paperless Parts.
Jasmine Pogue, IoT Specialist @ T-Mobile
Jasmine started a new role as an IoT specialist at T-Mobile in October and is undoubtedly heads down ramping up.
Mark Hardy, BlackKite
In 2023, RevOps at Black Kite was a year focused on tech stack consolidation + optimization, stronger enablement of the sales team, and breaking down communication siloes between departments to create better feedback loops across teams. Concluding my first full year in a dedicated RevOps role, I learned how dynamic RevOps can be and how much falls within it. Metrics, reporting, analytics, GTM systems, enablement, deal desk, FP&A, strategic planning... the list goes on. Headcount is always hard to come by, so prioritization of tasks in alignment with strategic RevOps goals was critical to achieving operational success this year. If the goal of RevOps is to build a well-oiled revenue machine, then the underlying theme of the year was simply "how do we get different teams aligned on the same cross-functional page.... and how do we keep them on the same page as company circumstances and market dynamics constantly evolve." There were certainly highs and lows of the year, but overall RevOps at Black Kite has proven to be an incredibly challenging, yet rewarding role and I am looking forward to taking my learnings from this year and implementing them as part of our GTM strategy for next year.
Tony Iuliano, Senior Director Sales @ Recorded Future
To start off on a positive note, Recorded Future was able to cross over the $300m ARR mark earlier this year, improving our stance as the largest Threat Intelligence provider from a revenue standpoint as well as total customer base. This is a huge accomplishment and proves how much value our customers have seen from our product and people. However, 2023 was not a year without its challenges as a leader at Recorded Future. The positive side of having a year like 2023 in the SaaS market is it gave us the ability to diagnose the biggest areas of opportunity within our sales org for North America. One glaring opportunity was the chance to implement and enable a common sales methodology. My Leadership team and I started at the core by enabling our team on proper qualification to uncover true business issues our prospects face (current state). We then used this to help the team understand how to align that with the positive business outcomes that will follow by implementing Recorded Future (future state). I'm a big fan of Force Management, MEDDPICC and John McMahon (Force Management Godfather and author of The Qualified Sales Leader) so we have used quite a bit of the same foundation. Looking back through 2023 as we close it out, it's become clear that a lot of people out there have benefited from good times but it's never been more important to adjust, improve, and perfect your approach and strategy when times are challenging. I'm proud that we're putting in the work now and know we'll come out fighting like Rocky Balboa in 2024. Long story short, prioritize making your people better. And don't forget to check your ego, look yourself in the mirror, and ensure you're getting better at the same time.
Kelly Cheng, Head of Marketing & Growth @ Goldcast
Kelly is heads down building the Marketing & Growth team at Goldcast gearing up for a big 2024.
Ashlyn Donohue, Director of Legal @ LinkSquares
We have had an exciting year in 2023, with the launch of The LinkSquares Cloud, our all-in-one enterprise legal management platform, and Prioritize, our legal project management solution. Being Customer Zero has been especially energizing since this launch. Our technology has enabled our team to centralize and streamline where and how we work, as well as capture and demonstrate legal’s impact on the business. The LinkSquares Cloud’s CLM and project management solutions help us surface trends and opportunities tied to revenue — reinforced by holistic, meaningful data. Additionally, we welcomed Ashley Jones to our team as Commercial Counsel. She has been an incredible addition to our legal team, and the entire LinkSquad. I spoke at ten industry events in 2023, which gave me the opportunity to strengthen my existing relationships and make new connections across the legal community — and exchange ideas, learnings, and approaches that will empower legal departments to drive efficiencies and results within their organizations. Looking forward to fostering community, collaboration, and innovation across the legal space in 2024!
Jon Coombs, Group Product Manager @ Flexcar
Jon has been focused on delivering secure onboarding and seamless qualification for customers in the second half of 2023 at Flexcar, a flexible alternative to buying or leasing a car. As Flexcar has grown its product offerings to include delivery services, new mileage plans, and vehicle-level pricing, the Risk Product team at Flexcar has been busy shipping features, protections, and ML models related to these new avenues to deliver a tailored experience for Flexcar’s user base. In 2024, Jon is looking forward to utilizing the technology developed during 2023 in new and exciting ways to impact the in-car driver experience, manage accident exposure, and deliver instant feedback to the broader team related to risk signals.
Michele Choi, Head of Business Development & Marketing @ Medley
The Medley team is growing! Since May, we've added a Head of Product and Business Operations & one of our team members has moved to Boston (a big welcome to Sarah Agopian-Khalife!) We've also been busy growing the business overall e.g., partnered with LinkedIn for the third time to have our leadership / group coaches power their peer group 'solutioning rooms' at the annual Talent Connect conference. We're excited with the responses from other existing partners to renew / expand and are now venturing out into prospecting in new industry verticals, as well as ramping up efforts to start raising a Series A. If you know of enterprises looking to invest in their best talent / emerging leaders, to grow via the power of coaching, community & connectivity, please let me know!
Dan McCarthy, VP, Product @ Kard
There were two big personal wins in the second half of the year, getting married and adopting a dog! My wife, Chelsea, and I have started to settle into our home in Charlestown and can confirm that everyone in this neighborhood also has a dog, so good on us for being different. In terms of professional updates, Kard (we're hiring!) has accelerated its pace of development, with a focus on releasing features that allow us to create more engaged banking cardholders and illustrate that clearly to brands, creating a clear link of attribution.
Carla Price, Senior Account Executive @ Jampp
Carla is excited to share that she joined the sales team at Jampp in September! She is very happy to be back in the mobile app marketing space and reconnect with people in the industry, which she was able to do in person at AGS in November. Carla is looking forward to the continued opportunities and events that the new year will bring for the MGMT Boston Operators Club.
Kayla Dowd
It has been a busy six months at Hi Marley! We have released several important new features and officially announced our partnership with Copart, all of which has kept me and our team busy. We recently hired a new CSM who we are thrilled about, and she will start at the beginning of the new year and manage our Enterprise group of customers.
I have also been promoted to Team Lead, effective 1/1/24! I will continue to manage my book of business, while also leading a team of Enterprise CSMs. I am thrilled with this opportunity and am looking forward to this next step in my career to help guide a team to achieve their goals and grow in their career.
